 By becoming
a supporter of the Discover the Delta
Foundation, you will become an important
member of the Delta Team, one intent
upon better establishing the Delta's
identity and creating a
"voice" for Delta interests.
Your membership will
help us:
- Build a major Information
Center at the intersections
of Highways 12 and 160, where
over 10,000,000 vehicles pass
by yearly and where several
hundred visitors are expected
to visit the Center daily.
- Provide Delta Chambers
and Visitor's Bureau office space
and a display area where they can
greet and assist visitors who with
to explore the Delta.
- Set up displays
by principal state agencies with
Delta interests, including the
Department of Boating & Waterways,
Fish & Game, Water Resources,
and the Delta Protection Commission,
so that one can learn about what
governmental agencies are doing
in the Delta today and what is
being planned for the future.
- Provide a unique
facility for bus tours and school
visits, a meeting room for concerned
Delta residents, a place for social "get-together's"
for individuals wanting to learn
about the Delta, or simply a place
where governmental agency personnel
or others could be invited to "sit
down and talk."
- Create timely exhibits
on the Delta's history, culture,
farming, ecosystem, levees, recreation,
and the future.
- Provide a Delta
gift shop for souvenirs, books,
etc.
- Encourage visitors
to take advantage of adjacent attractions,
including a fresh fruit stand,
picnic area, and displays of farm
equipment and animals.

Volunteers
Volunteers
are needed to help produce printed
material, get mailing packets ready,
contact businesses, prepare and
deliver follow up items, assist
with a direct mail campaign, enter
names into the computer database
and more.
